    I have arranged a THG group visit to BT archives on Wednesday 28th August. There are twenty places available. If demand should exceed 20 places then I will arrange a second visit. Any member who would like to attend, please email me laurence.rudolf@ntlworld.com  directly and I will confirm that you have a place. Also it would help BT archives if each visitor could give them a list of things that they would like to look at initially.

    The search room is open from 10-00 am to 4-00 pm. Full details can be found on the web site;

    I am pleased to announce that a T.H.G. swapmeet will be held at the Bradville Hall Community Centre, 24 Mercers Drive, Milton Keynes, MK13 7AY on Saturday 19th October 2019.

    The swapmeet will open to T.H.G. members at 10-00am and close at 1-00pm. There are 20 tables that are available to be booked. There is a charge of £5.00 per table and I will collect this from the table holders on the day. Tables must be booked in advance with me, the events organiser, Laurence Rudolf, telephone 0330 321 1844 (option 5) or e-mail events@thg.org.uk

    If you are booking a table you will have access to the hall from 9-00am for those who have taken a table and are setting up.

    The community centre is just a couple of miles from the telephone museum which is itself situated inside the Milton Keynes museum, McConnell Drive, Wolverton, Milton Keynes, MK12 5EL. The director of the Milton Keynes museum, Bill Griffiths, has again very kindly agreed to wave the museum's admission charge on Saturday 20th October 2018 so that T.H.G. members can visit the telephone museum without incurring any charge. The T.H.G. committee will as before make a small donation to the Milton Keynes museum on the group's behalf. There will be a chance to get refreshments at the "Granary Tea Room". Further  information about the Milton Keynes museum can be found on its web site www.miltonkeynesmuseum.org.uk/visit-us/ and the museum will be open until 4.30pm. • Avoncroft

    Sunday 5th April 2020

    Like last year the swapmeet will be held in the Guesten Hall Building. As it is at ground floor level it is much easier to unload and set up; also the hall is quite large and there is ample space. The Avoncroft Museum has very kindly waived their admission charges for paid up T.H.G. members for this day only. This will mean that members will not have to pay the £11.00 admission fee. Avoncroft will have a list on the day of current paid up T.H.G. members. If you want to get in free you will need to be on the list so that you can be ticked off. If your membership has lapsed then you will not get in without full payment. The free admission is just for the T.H.G. member. Seniors will have to pay £9.90 and children and students £6.00. The swapmeet will open to T.H.G. members from 10.30 when the museum opens. The swapmeet will end promptly at 1.00pm. The Museum closes at 5-00pm. We must vacate the Guesten hall at 3-30pm.

    It is quite expensive to hire the Guesten Hall. To help subsidise the cost there will a charge of £5.00 per table. I will collect this from the table holders on the day. Tables must be booked in advance with me, the organiser, Laurence Rudolf, telephone the THG number (0330 321 1844) and select option 5, or e-mail, laurence.rudolf@ntlworld.com

    If you are booking a table you will have access to drive in from 9.00am. You can find out information about Avoncroft from their web site www.avoncroft.org.uk Under the Museum's health and safety policy, in order for this swapmeet to go ahead the T.H.G. has agreed to the following:- No items that belong to T.H.G. members can be plugged in to any electrical sockets. The general public can come into the swapmeet. T.H.G. members' families are welcome. The museum will allow cars on site before 10.15am for unloading, however by 10.30am all cars should be off site and in the car park. The museum can only have a maximum of 6 cars near the Guesten Hall at any one time.

    Avoncroft is two miles south of Bromsgrove off the A38 bypass (400 yards north of its junction with the B4091). It is three miles north of the M5, Junction 5 and three miles south of the M42, junction 1. Regular bus services from Bromsgrove and Droitwich and from Birmingham and Worcester. Bromsgrove railway station is one mile away.

    We usually manage to get all 35 tables booked.
